Dorothy Pax, built 1913 at Mexborough the last remaining timber-built keel left on the canal. Used to carry coal and iron ore into Sheffield. Rescued from the bottom of the canal in 1964 and a charity trust was set up, (the Dorothy Pax Trust) years of bureaucratic wrangling has prevented its restoration.
