This photograph was donated to a group of historians in Surrey by the descendants of George Luscombe who was treated at the 3rd Northern General Hospital for a gun shot wound to his back during World War I; The historians passed it to the Sheffield Hospitals History Group in 2016.

There is a Red Cross service record for a Nellie Lund (of Hartlepool) who served at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield, 1917 - 1919.
