Chapel Furnace and surrounding fields [Chapeltown], c. 1750
Sheffield_Chapeltown
1500-1799

Scale not stated

Surveyor: William Fairbank I.

The positions of the workmen's houses and the road direction vary form those of arc02627; the sketch is wrongly orientated, as the compass needle is actually pointing east, not north.

Fields named with acreages; furnace, workmen's houses, road and river shown; although one appears to be copied from the other some details differ widely and they are orientated in different directions.

E, p. 11.

Dimensions: 22.5 x 19.5 cm

Original at Sheffield City Archives: ACM/MAPS/Ecc/214S.

Digitised with financial support from Sheffield and District Family History Society in memory of Professor David Hey (1938-2016) founder and life president of the Society.
