John Davenport (1783-1853) was a saw maker at Rockingham Street. This advertisement is undated (but has 1834 in pencil on the cutting). A similar advertisement appeared in Robson's Birmingham and Sheffield Directory (1839). Note the grinding wheels in the illustration.
