Printed and Published by The Sheffield Independent Press, Limited, 21, Fargate, Sheffield. 968.2 SSTF Was in South Africa 5 frac12; years previous to coming on the reserves. Was called up in December, 1899, and set sail in the Majestic on the 13th of that month. On arrival, was sent on the Durban and from there to Estcourt. Was with Sir Chas. Warren's force. In the engagement at Spion Kop he received fatal injuries and died at Spierman's Camp on the 28th January, 1900. Page 143
