Location:Sheffield
Date Period:Please select
Photographer:Tulley, Photo
Notes:

Under his leadership the Saw Grinders Union grew in power, and disrupted the work of non-union members. Broadhead was never personally involved in the intimidation - which became known as the Sheffield Outrages - and although he ultimately confessed to ordering a murder (of a man called Linley) and other crimes he was never convicted of any criminal offences.
