Erected by Henry Charles, 13th Duke of Norfolk, at a cost of on the site of the late Tontine Inn. Opened Christmas Eve, 1851. Constructed of brick, with stone basement, quoins & dressings, in classic style. The west front was rebuilt 1904-5 with shops opening on to the Haymarket. Demolished 1959.
