The postcard was sent by Sister Hutchinson to a George Luscombe from Wimbledon who was being treated at the 3rd Northern General Hospital for a gun shot wound to his back.

There is a military service record for a Hilda Hutchinson of 29 Wincobank Avenue who served as a nurse from Jul 1918 to Jan 1919.

The photograph was donated to a group of historians in Surrey by the descendants of George; who passed it to the Sheffield Hospitals History Group.
