Thomas Garnett, a Labour Member of Sheffield City Council, was first elected in November 1926, becoming an Alderman in May 1952. He was one-time Chair of the Watch Committee and Deputy Chair of the Transport Committee. He became a Justice of the Peace in 1942. He died in 1954.
