Benjamin Arthur Wightman was born in Sheffield in 1873, the eldest son of Arthur Wightman (1842 - 1924) of Hallam Gate, Crookes, solicitor. Like his father, Benjamin Arthur Wightman became a solicitor of the family firm Broomhead, Wightman and Reed. Benjamin Arthur Wightman later resided at 14 George Street, Sheffield and latterly at the Old Rectory, North Stoneham, Hampshire. He died on 20 November 1937.
